I can't believe the Georgia Renaissance Festival has been around for 30 years! What's even more unbelievable is that it had been so long since I been. I'm kinda glad things worked out that way because I was able to take my teenage son, who was 15-years old at the time and his high school friend.
We loved being outdoors and enjoying the perfect Spring weather, shaded under trees, enjoying a bit of sun and a bit of breeze.
The food and drink selections were great, but definitely too many choices to take in during one visit. A return visit ticket would definitely fit the bill and they're discounted. Part of me wishes they would offer a season pass. I could totally see myself, my son and my S.O. going at least 3-4 times.
The entertainment options were endless. We watched a fun hypnotism show, the wheel of death, a PG/PG-13 comedy show, which the teenagers LOVED, the Splatter Time Mud Show, listened to the Giving Tree drums, Wolgemut's european music featuring bagpipes, got to see animals and birds and most exciting was the jousting.
We were there all day and I still don't think we got to take in everything there is. I'm so glad we've got a few more years to go as a family (until my son becomes an adult and I have to beg). The Georgia RenFest is definitely something you can attend annual and get a different experience each time. It's totally worth the price for tickets, epsecially if you get the Royal Value Combo Pack and return visit tickets.
It's a must see for any visitor or resident and it was worth the 35 minute drive for an all-day experience.
